AND THE WORK CONTINUES!!!!

We have been weighing ourselves still but are not getting it on the computer. My weigh-in for Monday was 250.0 lbs.
I am not sure what Bec's weigh-in was so she can add that. We have not been working out real regularly during the Christmas break. We have been out running in the morning a couple of times and have taken the kids with us since they are out of school. We have been going to the college and running around the track and that is not as nice as running through the neighborhood. It gets old running in a circle time and time again. Our friends got the Wii Fit for Christmas and I set myself up on it and it told me that I am "obese", (real smart game!!!). I guess I still have some work to do!!!! I am still working on getting to 190 - 200 lbs. It will be nice when all the treats are gone and we get back to our regular routine of running in the mornings. I still have a long way to go, but I've already lost about 30 lbs.!!!! I will get there someday, right!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Haven't fell off the Wagon

It appears that I have not been doing anything for sometime. I actually decided to take a week off after our 10K run. The following week I caught a cold and was down for another week. It has been 3 weeks now and I need to get back on the treadmill. I weighed myself this morning at 209.6. Good thing is I have been disciplined in my eating, but slacking in my exercises. Monday I plan to start up the program again. I am actually looking at doing another 10K in Roseville on Jan 10th. Anyone interested? There is also a 5K.

AMAZED & HAPPY & Also Ran!

OK I FINALLY DID IT! I BROKE THE 160 MARK! I was pretty happy to say the least when i got on the scale this week to see the numbers!

HERE THEY ARE

Rebecca 159.6! FINALLY!

Bec started this post the other day very late one evening and didn't finish. I know it. Something about falling asleep at the computer or something. She was very excited and as always, looks great.

Me, well after finally getting below the 250 mark last week, I decided that I would go back.

My weighin was 250.8 lbs. (I was not very excited to see it.)

We ran one day this past week. It has been cold in the mornings (by California standards) and we finally got out on Thursday. We may need to figure out some other way to get the jogging in because we are getting into the rainy season or we may just get wet as we run. We need to keep up the exercise though.
It is the season of treats and parties and EATING! I know if we keep up the exercise, enjoy the holidays and try to save some food for other people, we will make it through to the new year and still keep loosing. That is what we are hoping for. Merry Christmas everyone! We are getting in shape so now and when we are older we can be in the service of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Keep up the good work everyone!

IT IS PAST TIME TO WRITE!!!!

Another week has past. We missed our entry for last week. Our weigh in for last week (12/1):
Bec - 165.0 lbs
Cameron - 250.2 lbs

This is our weight for today:
Bec - 162.6 lbs
Cameron - 248.6 lbs (I finally broke the 250 barrier!!!!)

Both of us feel like we have been bouncing up and down all month with our weight. It has been a little frustrating. We are glad to see our weight going down again. I also have some good news to report. I have dropped one pant size! I put on a pair of pants that I had to put away I don't even remember when. This happened last week as well.

Now we would like to hear from the rest of you. I know we are all busy with the holidays but if we are going to make it through without undoing all our hard work we have got to stick together!

Good luck! Merry Christmas to you all!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey everyone.
Sorry we have been late getting our weight posted on the blog. We are still working at it. It is frustrating sometimes getting on the scale, but here are the results from our weigh in from Monday.
Cameron 252.8 lbs (up 0.8 lbs from last week)
Bec 164.o lbs (up 1.8 lbs from last week)
As you can see we are having some difficulty at the moment.
We do have some good news. Today we ran the Sacramento Run to Feed the Hungry. It was a beautiful day and there were over 26,000 runners/walkers that had the same idea to start the day with a run. Bec ran the 5k with Trevor, Dallin, and Adam. Braden was going to come but had football practice this morning. Bec finished her run in 33.44 min. Dallin was at 35.33 min. Trevor finished in 32.30 min. and Adam was 32.45 min. They did great and were at the finish line to cheer me on as I finished.
Ron, Earl K. and me ran the 10k. Earl was the big winner for us three and Ron was not very far behind him. They both finished under an hour but I will let Earl tell you all his time. I finished in 1 hr 2 min and 16 sec. It is not my fastest 10k but I haven't run a race this heavy before. We felt really good about doing the run. It was fun and we are going to continue running to get in better shape.
Thanksgiving was great today! I am sure I ate too much but it was great! We will have to work extra hard between now and Monday morning's weigh in. Hopefully it will not be too painful.
We are grateful for good friends to work on getting in shape together with! Keep up the good work!

Cameron
P.S. We will post pictures from the run later. It really was fun to do especially now that it is over!

Finally... Something to Report

Well, I have been sick with a cold. I have had a cough where you think you may cough up a lung at any moment. And it hangs on forever, but I did get back to the gym this week after taking a week and half off from working out. It has been frustrating.

But I did get on the scale this morning and weighed in at 183.8! I am down 9.2 pounds from when we got our new scale.

We are headed on a trip for 7 days, there is a gym at the hotel, so hopefully we can maintain through.

Rhett weighed in last week at 209, he was very excited to break that 210 mark. He is still there this week. And he says - these last 10 pounds will be the hard part. He was saying this morning he needs to start lifting weights, he hasn't done any for 3-4 weeks.

With Thanksgiving around the corner it will be tough, but I just hope to eat LESS, not stuff myself like we do every year!

Have a good week!

Not the best news to report!

OK we did great during Halloween but the week following was less than stellar! We both gained weight this last week! 2 pounds each to be exact! I guess this is why we keep doing this because it is to easy to slip back into old habits like super amounts of sugar consumption!

We are still committed to continue despite this setback!

Cameron weighed in at 253.8
Rebecca Weighed in at 165 AGAIN! so i guess i went up 2.5 pounds to be exact. tear!

We hope you all did well or at least are still on board with us. let us know what up

First Goal Achieved

Well, I am consistent again about not posting on time. Last Monday I weighed in at 211 or 210.8. My scale fluctuates which can be annoying. Today I hit the scale after a decent soccer workout last night and it posted 210. This was my first goal to hit by Thanksgiving. I have been loosing about 1 pound a week which is fine. Based on my activity level that is appropriate. The key is to keep it off. Even today they had pie at our monthly work lunch and I ran the other way.

So I am going to see how close I can get to 205 by Thanksgiving. This is my new short term goal. Good luck to everyone and watch those calories over the weekend!

My 2 Cents

Bec already told you the good news about making progress even through Halloween. We both felt really good about loosing. Bec told you how much we lost but to save you the effort of scrolling down to see our weight last week I will just tell you that Bec weighed in at 162.4 lbs and I weighed in at 251.8 lbs. It is so nice to be working out with Bec. Friday morning when it was raining I would have been fine with staying in bed and waiting until Monday. She got up and get ready and then I had to get up myself. We ended up running the whole run instead of run/walking. She is a great strength to me! Thanks Bec!!!! Keep up the good work everyone! You all also help me. I keep working knowing that I will be recording this for you all to see each week.

CHK

WOW we survived Halloween!

We survived Halloween Candy!
We still lost weight!
we got up early and ran even in the rain!
Ok that is all the big news, that really is big news to go through Halloween and still loose weight! we are excited about that. We got up on Halloween and still went running in the rain. it was kinda fun actually!
Camron is down 4 pounds! way to go Cameron!
Rebecca us down 2 pounds. Yeeeha! i have been loosing about half a pound a week so i was pretty excited when i saw that!
Let us know how you are all doing!
Anita and Todd how was your trip? how are you doing? we need updates!
love you all, Bec

Slacking at the Blog

Well, it has been a little while since I last posted my weight. I am currently at 211.8. Inching ever closer to my goal of 210 by Thanksgiving. It is easy to get frustrated and want the weight to melt off, although we all slowly built it up. It has been about a year since I was at this weight. So I am at about 7.8 lbs loss. Sure feels better to look at it that way than a pound a week. Slow and steady will keep the weight off in my book!

My ultimate goal is to get to 190 which was about 10 years ago. This will get me to post mission, pre-marriage weight for all you mothers who refer to pre-marriage and post-baby. As I loose the weight I am getting more excited about the Thanksgiving run.

BTW - stay away from all that Halloween candy. They may look small, but those calories will add up quick. Plus Joe, they are just full of sugar.

Slow and Steady

So do you ever feel like a turtle? I do quite a bit in fact! Just ask Cameron and Ron, I run like one! And this loosing weight thing has been very much like one, but we all know that the turtle is the one that wins the race, not the rabbit. We have dieted before and lost weight fast like a rabbit and look at us now! Here we are again! This time our perspective is different, we want to be in shape for LIFE! not just be fast or be first! This week we made a bit of progress again and we are happy to be still working at it. Our cloths are fitting better all the time that is fun!
Cameron is down to...255.8 that is almost a 2 lb. loss for him! Remember he started this all out at 278! so that is a 23 pound loss so far!

Rebbecca is down to 164.4 that is a .6 loss from last week. That is about what i am consistently loosing lately. I have to remind myself i started out at 178 so i now have an almost 14 pound loss. That feel so great!

Well good luck this week everyone! and just keep moving!

Rhett's Numbers!

Rhett went hunting for 4 days last week and they hiked everyday. He said it was like being in spinning class all day! They figure they hiked 38 miles over the course of the trip. He weighed in yesturday morning at 210.0
Ten pounds to his goal!
That's the great news, the sad news is after all that hiking - NO ELK!
Oh Well, he says that just means they get to go out again!

Sugar Free Lifesavers

Cameron and Rebecca said I had to be positive when I post to the blog. That is against my nature because no one can make fun of me like I can, they just don't have access to the same material!

But, respecting the spirit of the blog, I will do my best.

I began this week by following the advice of Elder Reynolds of the seventy. He was the presiding authority at our Stake Conference last week. Elder Reynolds gave a talk about fasting that I found very intriguing. In it, he spoke of widening our view of what it means to fast. We can fast in a lot of ways. We can have a fast of "no TV," for example, or in Elder Reynolds case, he fasted from sugar which he said he was horribly addicted to.

And that was it for me! I too, am completely addicted to sugar. I love my Mountain Dew sodas. I love desserts even more. So I decided to heed the words of Elder Reynolds.

No sugar.

I am happy to report that I had no sugar this week and that makes me happy. Thank goodness for small victories. They make you feel good.

I even went as far as going and buying "sugar free" candy, which actually tastes good. I got through my first bag (not all at the same time) before I read that "too much consumption may have a laxative effect" on the back of the label. Doesn't that just ab out beat all?

My report for this week is:

294 pounds.

That is seven pounds down from last wee! WOO HOO!

I attribute most of the weight loss to the detoxification process from not having sugar. Wow, I ate a lot of sugar. I gotta tell you, it feels really good to have not had any sugar this week. I also attribute some of my weight loss to sugar free life savers (but I prefer not to discuss that because it is little gross!)

I am hoping to even out my weight loss. I think losing two pounds a week is pretty healthy. I will keep you posted. Literally!

A Pat on the Back

Well I thought I deserve a little pat on the back. Rhett has been gone hunting all week with our boys. Usually when he is gone I am lazy, sleep in, and eat out every night. But I did good this week. We didn't eat out at all and I got up every morning and went to the gym! I thought I would maybe sleep in today, but I'm to the point I wake up before the alarm and well if I'm awake I better get my butt to the gym. I weighed in this morning at 186.4 so down a tiny bit more. Baby steps I guess.

The Grand Experiment!!!!

Last week was a very tough week for me to exercise. Several days the only reason that I went was because we had to meet our friend Ron. It is good to work out with someone else so you have that "guilt" feeling if you don't follow through with the plan. Anyway it was a tough week for me. The reason things were so tough was because I was eating WAY TOO MUCH food. You already heard about the trip to San Diego and the ton of food consumed there. I came back and had two lunches at "All You Can Eat Pizza" complete with dessert pizza to wash it down with. That was the first part of the week. The rest of the week I tried to get myself back under control and did much better. My lesson for the week is you will pay for not eating right. Not only will you gain all the weight back that you worked so hard to loose, but you feel terrible. I have to only eat small portions, drink lots of water and don't forget to keep exercising! It will make you feel so much better. Also you do better if you eat a good breakfast. It is OK to go without dinner, but not breakfast!
Now for the results for the week.

Cameron 257.4 lbs (Yahoo!!!!!!!!)

Now for Bec. I feel a little bit like this is cheating for Bec because part of the motivation and help is posting. Bec is doing great! She looks great and her clothes continue to fit better and better. She tries on clothes that she hasn't worn for awhile and they are fitting very nicely. It is kind of like having new clothes without spending the money. I asked her what she wanted me to write for her and she said, "I am going to commit to not eat sugar! (again)" It is good to recommit. We really haven't been eating a lot of sugar but I guess she feels like when she eats sweets it is hard to just eat a little, like the cake incident awhile back. She wrote about that so I won't get in trouble for saying that! She is staying very steady and continues to loose weight. Her results for this week.

Bec 165.0 lbs (Great Job Bec!!!)

She has achieved a her short range goal of getting down to 165 lbs and has set a new short range goal of 160 lbs. by Thanksgiving. I guess we are going to run in a race Thanksgiving morning in Sacramento, The Race to Feed The Hungry. I don't know if we will run the 5K or the 10K. We will keep you posted on that.

Good luck to everyone! Welcome to the group Joe!

Cameron

Full of Chuddy Goodness

Two things before I begin.

One; Cameron is a sweet talker and, two; I have an overdeveloped sense of curiosity. These are the reasons I am writing today. Let me explain and perhaps my meaning will be clear.

Let's begin last Saturday morning. I went for a bike ride with my friend Tom. It was the Foxy Fall Classic in Davis, Ca. Tom and I decided to ride the metric century which is supposed to be 62.1 miles. As it turns out the Foxy people (which sounds weird) lied to me because the ride was actually 68.8 miles long! Why not call it a 111k ride? That would look so much better on a t-shirt.

Now I had great intentions of training for this ride, but life got in the way and I wound up being on the road for personal and business reasons for the two weeks prior to the bike ride. And, as everyone knows, when you are on the road, you eat terribly and so did I.

Despite my lack of preparation and internal sense of foreboding, I was determined to go on the ride because I paid like 40 bucks and I wasn't letting that go to waste!

It was a beautiful morning on Saturday, I felt fine on the ride until around mile 30 where I began to feel like I was going to die an excruciating death. My back screamed at me, my legs decided they were tired of being oppressed and they began to fight me with a fervor usually reserved for zealots or the insane. In fact, my legs began to act as if they were the Alamo pioneers and they fought the rest of my body like it was the Mexican army!

I trudged my way through the remaining miles and life was good as we got to the end. After all, when you remember the Alamo, you will remember the Mexicans won (sort of, they were destroyed shortly after, which means that is still a valid analogy for me!)

Forward to Sunday afternoon.

Cameron and Rebecca came over to my house and spent the day with my family and me. Cameron began to sweet talk to me about this crazy blog thing they are doing and how they logged the progress of their diet and excercise routines. I played like I was interested and he asked me if I would like to participate. I told him that I would not like to participate and that he should shut it!

I thought that was the end of that, but here is the kicker. Cameron told me that the group weighs in every Monday to track their progress. Now, I had no intention of weighing myself this morning (ignorance truly does equal bliss sometimes.) But man oh man, there is something irresistable about not wanting to get close to the scale that made me go get on it, hence, my overdeveloped sense of curiosity got the best of me. I could not avoid stepping on my scale even though I desperately wanted not to see what it had to show.

301 pounds is what I was desperate not to see!!!!!!!

No wonder my legs hated me! And how on earth did my bike survive the abuse it had to take on that ride? HOW DID I EVEN FINISH?

So here I am Cameron, you sweet talking guilt monger! I am motivated and ready to decrease my mass and make myself presentable again. I am 6'4" and I would really like to get down to around 240 lbs. That is a HUGE amount of weight to lose. At 240 pounds I would not be a slight man so let's just set the goal there for now and then say "let's see."

Will one of you please pass the celery?

-JWH

Still Here!

Hey there!
We're still here, still going to the gym, still trying to eat better! Rhett is doing awesome, he weighed in this morning at 213.2, his pants are fitting so much better and he has slimmed down in his face and is looking good!
I lost 4 pounds since I blogged last, finally! I weighed in at 187.3, it is nice to finally see some progress, I was getting very frustrated. I ran a mile straight on Wednesday, (that is good for me) I wanted to start cheering, but thought everyone in the gym might think I'm crazy! Keep up the great work everyone!

Not The Best Week (weekend really)

Let me clarify the title to this post. Bec did very good considering we went on a weekend get away to San Diego and there was food in front of us all the time! I on the other hand reverted back to my old ways of eating WAY to much. The only thing that I can look back on that I did well was I didn't drink a pop and still haven't since the first part of August. I have to rejoice in something. Now for the results.
I GAINED 2.6 lbs and I am at 261.6 lbs. That is very depressing but I expected it.
Bec did great with only eating smaller portions and still lost about a pound. She is at 165.4 lbs.

I am having a hard week this week as well. I am loosing the weight but am really trying to work hard at getting back to just eating small portions.

I find that if I eat slower I get filled up faster and don't eat as much food. It is hard. I am not giving up. Thanks for all the support from you others. It gets frustrating sometimes but if we all stick together and help each other along. We can do it.

He Todd and Anita, what is the name of that workout video that you were going to do? (P something I think)
STAY COMMITTED AND KEEP WORKING!!!!

Thanks everyone!

Another week another pound

As sick as it may sound, I think I look forward to the scale on Monday's more than going to work. Each week we have the opportunity to go to church, get energized and focus on personal improvement. I was able to shed another pound weighing in at 213.8. I'm feeling good and more optimistic about reaching my goal of 210 by Thanksgiving. I am actually not sad that the weight is coming off slowly, I am just glad it is coming off. The goal ultimately is to get rid of the excess weight forever! I know every here hates dieting so getting in shape is about changing our eating habits for the good and gain more energy by working out. Good luck on another week and congratulations to those who were successful this past week. For any of you who may have slipped, Today is the day to move forward. Leave last week behind.

Consistency

I am glad for a plan. I was once told that those that fail to plan, plan to fail. I weighed in at 214.8 this week. Below 215 for the first time in a while. Although the weight is not melting off, I have become more consistent is my eating habits and workouts. Sometimes it is difficult when my wife who says she wants to loose weight, munches on a chocolate drumstick. She even look at me weird as she downed a couple homemade cinnamon rolls. Oh, there is nothing better than the smell of warm...enough of that. Well, good luck to everyone and may we all achieve our goals!

Still Working On It!!!!

Hey everyone. It is fun to see all of your comments! Keep them coming and lets keep this going. I appreciate all your efforts and it helps to keeps us going! We are not loosing weight really fast but I think that is a good thing. We are trying to retrain ourselves so that we can have a little bit healthier lives. We are planning on going on a lot of missions when we get older and if we are not in shape we will not be able to do all we would like. That is really our motivation. Now for our results for the week.

Bec - 166.0 lbs
Cameron - 259.0 lbs

Our total weight loss thus far is:

Bec - 12 lbs. She looks great (she always has) and her clothes are starting to fit loose again. She is doing awesome.

Cameron - 19 lbs. My clothes are starting to fit much more comfortably also and I am starting to notice that I have a jaw and getting closer to only having one chin again.

Lets all have a great week. Keep going and don't give up! The cruize will be a blast!!!!

2nd Week Stagnation

Well for those that watch the biggest loser, the second week is little weight loss or none. I weighed in at 216.4, same as last week. I am not getting down. I know that my body is just going through an adjustment period. I am sticking to my program! I didn't go backward and I am building up my endurance. Stay focus and diligent and the results will come.

Confessions!

Okay after I saw that Bec lost 7 pounds in a week I was hoping to loose at least two! I got on the scale on Friday and had gained a pound. I was so mad!! I thought I had done good on my eating all week and worked out 6 days! Well, I pigged out all weekend, and I even had a pop! I was telling everyone I gained instead of lost and that I was sick of it. They try to tell me it is muscle I gained, which may be true because I have been lifting weights, but, for how hard I have been busting my butt working out I should see some kind of result and my clothes all fit the same! So I recommited today, but then we had a cinnamon roll tonight, I may be a lost cause! Rhett's family is starting a little get healthy thing where we all put money in a pot and get points for certain things, working out, drinking 8 glasses a water, eating zero junkfood (I doubt I will get those points too often). Anyway it starts Oct. 1, maybe that will give me more motivation! Keep up the good work Cam and Bec - you guys are my inspiration!!!!!

First week gitters

I hit the scales this morning - 216.4. This is 3.2 lbs for the first week. Not surprising with water loss and getting back on track after taking too long of a break. Did great at portions and snacking. Just need to be consistent in my training and stick to my goals.

Monday Weigh In 9/16/08

Our weight this morning was;

Cameron 262.2 lbs
Rebecca 163.4 lbs WAY TO GO BEC!!!!!!!

We are still just trying to eat much better, not so much sugar, at least when there is not CAKE around! I won't be bringing that home any more! We are trying to eat much smaller portions as well. It seems to be working. We are also running/walking in the mornings. We are running 6 mins and walking for 2. Let me know how the weights are working for you guys. I wouldn't mind doing that to but not sure when we could do it. Keep up the good work everyone! It is really fun to hear from you all.

Later,

Better Late Than Never

We'll I started on Monday at 219.6. My target weight is 190, but I know it will take some time. So I have set what I feel is a realistic goal by Thanksgiving of 210. I have definitely reduced my portions this week and avoided any significant sweets or treats. Good luck this weekend (which is always the hardest to stay disciplined) and hopefully Monday we will see progress.

First Friday Weigh In

So I weighed in this morning, it hasn't been a week, but I don't like to weigh myself on Mondays! I still hate the new scale, but figure it is probably the correct number as gross and pathetic as that number may be. So Monday I was 193 and today I was 190.4 on our new scale, I didn't even get on the old one. Rhett hasn't weighed himself again, I'll try to get him to do that tomorrow. We worked out everyday this week, I went to my weights class today and think I will do that 2 days a week.
Don't laugh Cameron, but Rhett's sister Heather started teaching us how to clog, well, me and the kids, (I am still trying to get Rhett to join us - Justin and Lance are doing it, and Nate is too, he is actually really good). We hope to get a little group going with all the cousins, I know his mom would be so proud!! But clogging is quite the workout, so hopefully that will help me a little too.
I must say cake sounds really good! I had 1/2 a candy bar yesturday, I needed chocolate bad!
Claudine

CAKE!

Ok cameron brought a cake home from work the other day. I said WHY! we are trying not to eat CAKE! but he thought the kids would love it. Well the cake was WAY to good for the kids, Meaning it had fruit in it so they didnt eat any! I ON THE OTHER HAND LOVED IT AND ATE HALF OF IT MYSLEF!!! ok confession over. i will be better! EVIL CAKE! it really was good! SCARY GOOD!

Rebecca's Goal for the month

In one month Cameron and I will be going to San Diego for his work conf. my goal is to loose 5 pounds by then and be down to 165! this will take a lot of work considering i seem to be plateauing already!

Anita Is MAKING STRIDES!!

I haven't figured out how to makes comments on the blog-site. I'm a little technology dumb! i'll just e-mail to you and you can put it on (sorry)

My last weight on Monday was 177 - I finally started losing weight!!
I'm trying to get in at least 4 days of working out (run/walk) and one of those days a hard work out. I did that this morning - I went to the High School track and ran the bleachers first (ooohhhh that was hard) then I did a fast lap then a slow lap and repeated. It felt AWESOME! I've also tried using the time I'm brushing my teeth to get some exercise in. Since we should brush for 3 minutes I do lunges or leg lifts or something during that time - it helps me brush for the full amount of time and I get some exercise instead of just looking at my overweight body in the mirror while brushing!

Delayed Weigh-in Results

Hey everyone! We did weigh-in on Monday. I just didn't get the stuff on the computer. Here are the results. Drum roll please!!!!!!

Cameron 263.2 lbs.
Rebecca 170.8 lbs.

We are still just doing the running/walking 3 days a week and biking 2 days. We do this for 30 min. each day. We are thinking of doing the "Run to Feed the Hungry" in Sacramento with Earl and probably Ron. We will keep you posted on that one.
It is great to see Rhett and Claudine join in!!! I don't know about the rest of you, but it is not very fun sometimes to get up early and start running!!!

Later,
Cameron

Earl is in!!!

I am posting this for Earl but he will post his own stuff from now on. Earl's Monday morning weigh-in was 219.6 lbs. He hasn't told me what his goal weight is so he will have to let us know that later. Earl is training for the "Run to Feed the Hungry" in Sacramento on Thanksgiving Morning. You can choose the 5k or 10k. I think Earl is going to do the 10k. He is going to try and run it in around 58 mins. He was just over an hour the last time he did it. Go Earl!!! He and his wife, Laura, are going to Spain next summer so they probably won't be going on the cruise with the rest of us. Welcome aboard Earl!

A Bit of Controversy!

Okay, I know you have been wondering if we are on board with this or not, and the answer is yes, but, I have weigh-in issues and they only seem to be getting worse. We have "started on Monday" several times in the last 5-6 weeks, but finally last week we made it to the gym 6 days! We have been doing cardio, 3 days on the eliptical machines and 2 days going to spinning class. Saturday Rhett lifted weights and I walked/ran on the treadmill. He lifted weights today and did 30 of cardio after. I did cardio and then lifted some weights tonight. I used to go to a weight lifting class at the gym I really enjoy, but right now I would be dead on the floor if I went, I need to work myself back up to that.
So we have a scale we have had since we got married and so we decided it would be good to get a new digital one. Rhett doesn't know exactly where he started at on the old scale, he thinks around 225 and on our new scale he is 218. He said he couldn't read the "dash marks on the old scale" so he really doesn't know. I asked him if the new scale was close to the old scale and he thought it was. On the old scale my initial weigh in was... 189 and after the first week on the old scale I was 187. I was thinking I did a great job! However on our new scale this morning I was 193. What the?#@! Now that is sick and wrong, I am not going to weigh myself on Monday ever again! And probably never again on that new scale!
So anyway if I don't get too depressed over all that my ultimate goal would be 150, but I would be very happy at 160. Rhett's goal is 200.
So there you go, you finally have my dreaded weigh in! I haven't had M&M's at work for a week! That is my big problem, they have a big jar full there all the time of peanut m&m's. I was eating way too many and that is why I look the way I do!!
Happy Running!!

Checking In

It is the end of week and we are checking in. How is everyone doing? Let me report since the beginning.

Cameron:
I started the fun at an embarrassing 278 lbs. on Aug 5th. My largest recorded on my scale was 280 lbs. just before the trip to Yellowstone and Idaho/Utah. My goal weight is 200 lbs. so I have a long way to go. This is my progress so far.
8/18 - 270.8
8/25 - 268.2
9/1 - 268.2

I weigh in on Monday morning for my official tracking day. Everyone can pick their own weigh in day but it is important that it stay the same and that we report it every week. We can help each other better that way.

Bec's also doing great! She started at 178 lbs. and her goal weight is 150 lbs. Her official weigh in day is going to be Monday as well. Here is her progress so far.

8/11 - 173
8/18 - 172.2
8/25 - 172.6
9/1 - 172.4

We have started eating better and smaller portions (we share things instead of getting our own). We also haven't had a pop since we got back from Utah on the 4th of August. We eat a lot less sugar (cut way back on sweets). We are running/walking and biking in the mornings for 30 minutes. We are up to 4 min running and 2.5 min walking. I don't know how far that is in miles but I will pace it out on my motorcycle and report back.

I hope everyone can get to this and can write how you are doing on our blog. Have a great weekend!

Anita & Todd are in!!!

AWESOME!!! Thanks Cam & Bec for getting the Blog set up, hopefully it will help us get more motivated! Todd and I started slowly with our exercise/eating better program a month ago. we are feeling better but so far haven't lost any weight - at least for me that's the case! A bit frustrating, so I'm hoping this blog and the encouragement from it will help me do the little extra that is needed to start dropping the pounds. Our Eastern Caribbean cruise is in just 52 days! I'd like to loose 15-20 lbs but that might be pushing it in that short of a time. We'll be going snorkeling and I don't want to be too embarrassed to get into a swim suit!
Just for the record my weigh in this last Monday was 182 (the same as it's been the past 4 weeks - AAARRRGGGHHH!) I've been running/walking 3-4 times a week too and eating better but maybe I need to eat even better than I am.
Thanks again Cam & Bec!

We are finally on-line!

Hey everyone!

We are now a month into the fun of getting back into shape! We all need to weigh in every Monday morning and email that back to me. If you have already started please send the weight that you started at (if you have it) and your progress so far. I will get them posted on our blog and we can see how each other is doing. We also need to tell each other what our goal weight is so we can encourage each other. There is no making fun of each other and no rude comments. (I made that rule for me!) This is strictly to help us feel a little pressure and hopefully stick with our goals.
It would be good to also share what we are doing to loose the weight such as type of exercise, foods we are eating/not eating, etc..
Let's have fun with this and get into shape!

Later,
Cameron
