Check out the link. Off to work after my 5 mile run this morning. The smart feet seems to be helping with the shin pain.

alright, here I am again, with even more pounds on me than last time I posted. I am up to
about 196lbs. and need to get my butt going- well I have been doing some things. But, I'm with bec, those sweets are just too tempting!! What is it with those sweets?
I picked up a new book on tape called "Does this clutter make my butt look fat?" by Peter Walsh. I have only listened to the intro, but I love it already. He is so good at just saying it how it is! He asks the question "How do you want your life to be?" or "what do you want to do with your life?" We only have one life! He talks about how America is in love with FAT. We drive the biggest cars, have bigger houses, with smaller families, and we eat whatever we feel like eating without thinking about it. We eat out 1/2 the time now, and we think that gives us permission to not worry about what we put into out mouths, or how much we put in. anyway, great book! (I also love his other book, "it's all too much")
I also visited my Dr's a couple of weeks ago. It was time to start taking care of myself again. My OB/GYN said the best thing. First she encouraged me to sign up for something that would motivate me to do some exercize, then she gave me the best advice... she said she has a plaque that says "anything worth doing, is worth doing POORLY" She said, don't kill yourself if you don't have hours to train right now, just do what you can, and ENJOY it!! She and her family did a triathilon last summer. she is probabaly in her late 50's and is probablay about 250lbs. I LOVE MY DR!!
So, now, with the extra weight I have put on, I now have 36 lbs. to loose, but I at least have a better outlook and am trying to do something a few times a week to MOVE!
I walked today, and yesterday I worked in my garden all day, man I am sore! love it!!
till next time!

We Are Still Trying!!!!
Hey Everyone!
Thanks for your posts. It helps to see you all working so hard to reach your goals. We are also working to get to our goal. It is frustrating to not see results but we are getting in better shape even if the scale doesn't think so!
Here is this weeks weigh-in:
Cameron - 241.6 lbs.
Heading in the right direction again.
Bec - 163.4 lbs.
We are doing an M.S. Walk/Run 5k on Saturday and preparing for the Folsom Run in May. Bec and I are both planning on doing the 10k for that race.
Everyone keep up the "HARD" work. This truly is hard work but very worth it! We both feel much better now than when we started! It is only going to get better the closer we get to our goal. The real goal is a much healthier lifestyle.

Slow and steady wins the race, No?
Well Sat was another long run in my world. Like the previous week, I set my Ipod for time rather than distance. Last week was 40 minutes and I increased it to 45. Doesn't seen like a lot more, but I was spent. When I reached my goal and stopped, I felt like I could not run another inch. I was able to hit the 5 mile mark which was consistent with last week. I ran on average 9 minute miles. I started out a little too fast like usual, but was able to get a pretty good stride. Ron Chance ran with me and we hung there pretty much side by side the whole time. Toward our half way point I was not that far ahead. He really pushed me to keep the pace. Thanks Ron.
Looks like next week I will inch it up to 50 minutes. I am on track to hit a 55.48 min 10K, which would be almost a 3 minute improvement over Jan. Who knows, with more weight loss and training maybe I will surprise myself. Right now nothing comes without hard work.

Making Progress and Feeling Good
Today was my long run. I am trying to run MWF and then longer on Sat because I have more time. Today I set my ipod for 40 minutes rather than miles. I ran out 20 minutes then turned around. I was happy when I returned to the spot I started with 4 seconds to spare. I have been working really hard to keep a constant pace (9 minute miles). My result was 9 minute miles, 4.44 distance. I weighted in at 205.2 and hope to get under that 205 soon. It would be awesome to get to the 200 mark by the race in May. Since I am increasing my miles I think I just might be able to do it.
I've Lost My Work-Out Partner :(
Well, I have lost my work-out partner for awhile, Rhett got hurt on Thursday night (I will have to put the story on our blog). A ladder collapsed on him when he was at the very top. He has cracked ribs and lots of sore muscles. He can hardly move and will be laid up for awhile. It is a huge bummer, I hate getting up and going to the gym by myself!!!!
I am still on my no sweets roll, almost 6 weeks!!! I do think I am going to treat myself tomorrow for Easter though. We'll see, now that I have gone so long I am afraid I will just pig out royally!!!
I didn't post last week, I weighed in at 174.6 last Friday. I didn't weigh myself yesturday, (I was in the ER with Rhett). So I weighed in this morning at 172.6 I'm feeling really good! Still haven't been able to run outside a whole lot, it was nice a couple days and then has been really rainy. Here's to nice weather, a fast recovery for Rhett, and numbers to keep coming down.

We Are Stuck!!!!
We have been doing pretty good as far as exercising. We run at least 3 days a week and walk two.
Today I weighed in at 241.2 lbs.
I am getting very tired of this and need to figure something else out. I need to start paying more attention to what and more importantly, how much I am eating. I don't think eating later in the evening helps much either. We are still working toward our goals and are feeling healthier.
Bec weighed in at 162 lbs.
Bec thinks that her love for sweets is what is causing her stall in weight loss. We may both have to go "sugar free" to kick start our bodies again.
We are planning on the run in May with Earl. I don't know about the time part. I feel good about just finishing. We will see how that goes. It should be a fun run!
Keep up the great work everyone. I know it is frustrating when the scale does not confirm or show us our efforts but don't let that slow you down. We are all getting in better shape. That is the goal. We all need to be ready to be missionaries when we are old!
Have a great week everyone!

Getting ready for next week
I have not posted in a long time. I am trying to run 4 times a week. Mon, Wed and Fri. My goal is to run 3 miles each day. Saturday's are my long runs. I increase 1 mile every two weeks. A week ago I ran 4 miles in 36:37.
I had to take it a little easy this week because my shins were bugging me again. This next Saturday I hope to be able to run 4 miles. This morning I weighed in at 206.8. I seem to do pretty good during the week and for some reason move up a pound or two. I don't think that I eat more, it is probably just the break in routine. I am still planning for a 10K on May 16th. My goal is 54-56 minutes. I have been running 9 minute miles consistently so I am on my way. Hopefully I can continue to move toward my next goal of 205, then 200 down eventually to 190.
